Trendy decoration and low prices: an ephemeral shop has opened on rue Esquermoise in Lille
Shopping Home opened its doors on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 80 rue Esquermoise, in Old Lille, this ephemeral boutique offers trendy home decor at low prices.
If confinement has made you want to redecorate your home, this address could well become your new favorite store. Located at 80 Esquermoise Street in Old Lille (North), Shopping Home offers trendy decoration at low prices.
The store, which welcomed its first customers on Saturday, June 6, 2020, is not destined to stay, however, and will close its doors for good at the end of December. But until then, Elisa and Chris, the duo of shopkeepers at the helm of the boutique, intend to do their utmost to help you feel at home without ruining yourself.
The shop robbed from day one
The formula proposed by Shopping Home was very popular from day one: “We had a lot of people and no one left empty-handed. We were robbed and we even had to close early,” says Elisa.
“We didn’t even need to make the sale, the low prices were enough,” Chris adds.
However, no one had heard of the inauguration of this new shop. Occupied by a tobacconist until the end of 2018, the premises remained empty for more than a year and a half.”During the confinement, the owners of the premises asked me if I had an idea. It was done in a few days,” says Elisa.
Arrivals every week
Furniture, vases, mirrors, candles, baskets, crockery and other second-hand items. Shopping Home is Ali Baba’s cave full of trendy decorations… Every week, the shop offers new items at special prices.
“On Mondays I go to Belgium to get good deals from importers,” says Elisa, who has already managed several decorating shops in Old Lille.
Thanks to a well-stocked address book and her keen sense of negotiation, she manages to buy end of series from suppliers at the best price.
Once in the shop, the items found remain at a very affordable price. 50% off the retail price,” says the manager. She gives the example of a candle sold for 50 euros in another shop. “I’m selling it for 18 euros!”
